Tennis is a very famous racket sport that can be played individually against a opponent or also as a duet against two other opponents. Each player has a tennis racket which has a strung with a cord to strike the green rubber ball. The main object of the game is to play the ball in a way that the opponent cannot revert. The player who misses the ball will give away a point to its opponent.

Tennis is a Olympic game and is played at all ages. The game was first originated in England as Lawn Tennis. A racket is the main part of the whole sport, it includes a handle with a grip if needed, the racket then connects to the neck of the frame and is holder tightly by pulled strings which help to strike the tennis ball.

Tennis balls were originally made with cloth strip stitched together with thread. Tennis balls now are made with rubber and a felt coating. The colour of the ball is mainly optic yellow.

Court :

The court is a rectangular, flat surface. It's measurements are 78 feet (23.77 m) long and 27 feet (8.2m) wide for singles and 36 feet, for doubles. The net in between is 3 feet 6 inches high.

Rules of Tennis:-

  • A coin toss should be held to choose the first server.
  • Faults and Double faults should be considered.
  • If the server fails to take advantage of the first serve, they can use the 2nd serve.
  • The receiver can stand anywhere they want, as they anticipate.
  • 4 points win a game.
  • The ball can hit any part of the line for the point to be called in.
  • The ball should be changed every 6 games.
  • A player will lose point if they fail to return the serve in the specified court area.

Scores are counted in a different way:-

  1. No Points = Love
  2. 1 point = 15 points
  3. 2 point = 30 points
  4. 3 points = 40 points
  5. 4 points = set point (set is over)
